Bonaire Coral Gardening Certification

We’re going back to Bonaire! This time though, the heart of the trip is a little different.

We all see what’s happening to our coral reefs around the world. The bleaching, the damage, the decay. It’s sad and infuriating and it’s hard to know what we can actually do to help. It’s overwhelming knowing how much work needs to be done but I always encourage people to help how you can, where you can, no matter how big or small. I made this trip for people who feel the ocean's love and are looking for a way to love it back.

I did this same exact Reef Renewal course because I’d never seen a dive shop offer it before. The ocean has healed me in so many ways and it felt like the least I could do to help heal it back. The course is two days of learning about coral, how the restoration process works, and how to carefully plant it to give it the best chance at a flourishing life. I also got to see firsthand how a tiny coral plant grew into a garden as large as a football field and it brought me to tears. We really can fix it.

We’ll do the Reef Renewal certification with Toucan Diving, tour the Reef Renewal lab, and adopt our own coral nursery tree that will stay there forever! Each diver will get their own certificate of adoption so you’ll always remember the change you made.

And of course we’re still going to have plenty of fun outside of the course. We’ll dive Bonaire's coolest shore diving sites and explore some beautiful remote reefs by boat too. And if you want to go adventure more you'll have free unlimited tanks to dive anywhere on the island. This is why they call Bonaire the "divers paradise", everything is designed for easy access to the ocean.

We’ll be staying at a newly renovated beachfront all-inclusive oasis. All meals & drinks for the week are all included in your premium package.

We spend so much time traveling the world to experience the ocean. This time we get to give a little love back to it too.
