We’re going to ITALY! Ustica Island is a beautiful gem off the coast of Sicily and one of the Mediterranean’s best-kept dive secrets. The underwater scenery feels dramatic and sweeping — ocean caverns, schools of barracuda, canyons, and boulder formations that feel completely different from many dive sites. And after the dive you just happen to be in Italy! Think pasta, spritzes, sunset happy hours on the cliffs, gelato walks through town, and the kind of charming seaside life that reminds you to slow down and actually live. We’re going at a festive time when the island is buzzing and full of life -- Ferragosto! It’s Italy’s vacation holiday, when the country gathers to celebrate summertime with food, gelato, beach days, music, dancing and pure joy.

Sicily feels like an endless summer – fresh food, turquoise water, and warm nights where the whole city seems to come alive. It’s lively, beautiful, and full of that classic Italian charm. The streets are lined with little shops and restaurants, music drifts through the piazzas at night, and everywhere you look there’s another view of the ocean. You’ll do your PADI Open Water certification at the best dive shop in town, Sea Spirit Diving Resort, which is conveniently located on our hotel property. It’s a full week of diving, exploring, laughing, and getting to discover one of the most beautiful parts of Italy together.

Bonaire is known worldwide as a diver’s paradise. It’s an island built around leisure, easy ocean access, and reef protection. This Juneteenth trip is reserved for Black divers to celebrate freedom, joy, and community. We’ll explore pristine reefs through guided boat dives, enjoy world-class shore diving, and stay at a gorgeous beachfront all-inclusive resort with meals, drinks, and unlimited tanks for shore diving included. For those who want to go deeper, there’s an optional PADI Reef Renewal course where you can learn how to plant and care for coral nurseries.

In celebration of Juneteenth Month, this trip is reserved for new Black divers freshly beginning your scuba diving journey. You’ll learn in a supportive, welcoming environment that honors care, access, and community. You’ll complete your Open Water certification while exploring calm, crystal-clear reefs with expert instruction every step of the way. Between dive lessons, relax at our gorgeous beachfront all-inclusive resort, with meals and drinks included. This week is about community, growth, and discovering the beauty of the underwater world for the first time.

Belize Bucket List | Week 1

We’re going back to Belize. My first time here, I came to check the Blue Hole off my bucket list, but I was just as enchanted by the other diving and the hidden gems around the island. One minute you’re dropping into the iconic Blue Hole, the next you’re drifting over reefs that are completely alive and full of marine life. San Pedro has this easy, vibrant energy to it, where everything is close, right by the water, and you move through the island by golf cart along the coast. And then there’s Secret Beach, where we get to spend our last day together in shallow, crystal clear water with beach bars, music, and tables set right in the ocean.

Belize Bucket List | Week 2

Learning to dive is on so many people’s bucket lists, and Belize is one of those places that makes it feel natural, like you’re easing into something you were always meant to do. We’ll begin in the pool, build your confidence, and then take it into the ocean. Clear water, coral all around you, fish moving through like you’re part of their community. You’ll spend the week learning and by the end of it, you’re not just visiting the ocean anymore, you know how to be in it. And then we celebrate it all at Secret Beach, in the water together, music playing, new adventures ahead.

Motherland Series: Zanzibar | Week 1

We’re going to Africa. This trip is part of The Motherland Series, created as a space reserved for Black divers to connect, return, and spend time in a place that holds pieces of our story. My visit to Zanzibar was soul nourishing, and I couldn’t wait to bring you all back with me. We’ll be staying in a lively beach town with luminous, crystal blue water that looks like it’s glowing. Beyond diving, we’ll visit a spice farm, take a Swahili cooking class, and take a dance class with local dancers, then explore the colorful, vibrant streets of Stone Town. But what stayed with me most was the feeling of being embraced, not just as a visitor, but as a sister from across the sea. Let’s go home.
